Fun Facts

  • Due to long legs they are fast and agile creatures in the water and will lure predators into the water to give the Nile lechwe the advantage.
  • Will produce oil to coat their fur to aid in repelling water off their coats.
  • Males fur will darken as they age and they develop a white patch on their backs.
