3 Minors, Parents, and Chaperones

3.1 Notice to Parents and Guardians

Parents or guardians are responsible for the behavior and supervision of their minor children at all times. The Park does not assume any responsibility or liability for unattended minors. Parents and guardians may be held legally liable for the acts of children under their care.

3.2 Lodging Chaperone Policy

All lodging guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone who is 21 years of age or older. The chaperone must present a valid, government-issued photo ID showing their date of birth at check-in, remain on-site for the duration of the lodging stay, and be reachable by phone at all times.

3.3 Tours and Park Experiences Chaperone Policy

Guests under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone who is 18 years of age or older. One (1) chaperone may supervise up to ten (10) guests under 18. The chaperone must present a valid, government-issued photo ID at entry, remain in the Park for the duration of the visit, and be reachable by phone at all times.

4 Animal Welfare and Restricted Areas

For the safety of guests and animals alike:

Barriers and restricted areas. Guests must remain behind all established barriers and outside restricted areas at all times unless accompanied by Park staff. Restricted areas include, but are not limited to, animal barns and housing, fenced pastures and yards, offices, exhibits, maintenance and service buildings, service roads, and perimeter fencing. Overnight guests may not explore Park grounds after Park closing and may not approach animals in exhibits, pastures, or holding yards unless accompanied by Park staff.

Animal interaction. Attempting to enter animal enclosures, crossing established habitat barriers, or harassing animals is punishable in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal law and may result in misdemeanor and/or felony charges.

Feeding and coaxing. Guests may not attempt to feed any animal or coax its approach, including by using or tossing food into a containment area. Guests in the Giraffe Barn Suite may not tap or make noise on glass windows to elicit approach by any animal.

Food and beverages. Food is not permitted aboard safari touring vehicles or during animal encounters, programs, and Activities. Beverages in appropriate non-glass containers are otherwise allowed.

5 Lodging

5.1 Late Arrival and Check-Out

Check-in is 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm daily. If your party requires a late check-in or will arrive after Park closing at 6:00 pm, contact Guest Services at +1 (706) 342-4296 before 4:00 pm on the day of arrival for instructions. Check-out is at 11:00 am.

5.2 Quiet Hours

For the safety and wellbeing of guests and animals, all guests agree to observe Quiet Hours after 10:00 pm.

5.3 Smoking

The Park is a smoke-free property dedicated to the health and safety of the animals in our care, our guests, and our employees. This applies to all smoking and vapor products, including cigarettes, cigars, pipes, e-cigarettes and other alternative smoking devices, and incense. Smoking and vaping are permitted only in designated smoking areas.

Smoking in or around any lodging accommodation is cause for immediate removal without refund, and a sanitization fee of $1,500.00 will be charged to the credit card on file for the reservation.

6 Photography, Recording, and Media

6.1 Personal Photography and Videography

Guests are welcome to take photographs and video and audio recordings for personal, non-commercial use during their visit, including sharing on personal social media accounts.

To protect the safety and comfort of guests, animals, and staff, all photography and videography must not disrupt the guest experience, interfere with animal welfare or animal care activities, or impede Park operations. The barrier and restricted-area rules in Section 4 apply at all times, including while photographing or recording.

The following are prohibited without prior written authorization from The Park (see Section 6.5):

  • Tripods, monopods, lighting equipment, reflectors, and similar accessories
  • Selfie sticks and other extension devices used to reach over, around, or through barriers or enclosures
  • Any equipment that obstructs pathways, viewing areas, or emergency egress

Flash photography is prohibited in posted areas and wherever directed by staff, including indoor habitats, nocturnal exhibits, and animal encounter areas. Staff may direct guests to discontinue flash photography near any animal at any time.

Respect for other guests. Guests must respect the privacy of other guests and staff. Photography and recording are prohibited in restrooms, changing areas, first-aid areas, and the interiors of lodging units other than a guest’s own.

6.2 Drones and Unmanned Aircraft

The launching, landing, or operation of drones or any unmanned aircraft system (UAS) from Park property is prohibited, as is the operation of any UAS by guests or visitors while on Park property. Drones present a serious risk to animal welfare — many species exhibit dangerous flight responses to aerial devices — as well as to guest safety.

Any exception requires advance written authorization from The Park (see Section 6.5) and full compliance with all applicable Federal Aviation Administration regulations and federal, state, and local law. Park authorization addresses use of Park property only and does not constitute airspace or regulatory approval.

6.3 Commercial Photography, Filming, and Content Creation

Advance written approval from The Park’s Public Relations team is required for any commercial or business-related photography, videography, filming, livestreaming, or audio recording. Activity is considered commercial if it is:

  • Created for compensation, or in connection with a brand partnership, sponsorship, or endorsement;
  • Created for a monetized channel or account, or intended for paid distribution or licensing;
  • Produced at the request of, or on behalf of, a business or organization; or
  • Conducted using professional crews or production equipment.

Personal sharing on social media is not considered commercial under this Code, and use of a personal camera — regardless of its quality — does not by itself make activity commercial.

Portrait and event photography. Professional portrait sessions (e.g., engagement, family, senior portraits) and photography or videography in connection with private events, weddings, or Lodge functions require a photography permit arranged in advance through Public Relations team. Permit fees may apply.

6.4 News Media

The Park welcomes news media coverage and will make reasonable efforts to accommodate credentialed members of the news media. Media visits, interviews, photography, and recording should be coordinated in advance through The Park’s Public Relations team (see Section 6.5).

To protect guests, animals, and staff:

  • Newsgathering activities that interfere with the guest experience, employee duties, animal welfare, safety protocols, or normal Park operations may be restricted or relocated.
  • Use of professional photography or broadcast equipment, and access to non-public areas, are prohibited without prior approval.
  • Media representatives may not solicit interviews from guests or on-duty employees in a manner that disrupts Park operations or guest enjoyment; the Public Relations team will gladly assist in arranging interviews.

6.5 Requesting Authorization

Requests for commercial activity, photography permits, or equipment or drone authorizations should be submitted at least 5 business days in advance to .

6.6 Park Photography, Recording, and Surveillance

Guests acknowledge that The Park and its authorized agents may photograph, film, or record on Park property for operational, security, educational, and promotional purposes, and that The Park may use such images and recordings in accordance with The Park’s Terms and Conditions. The Park’s security program includes surveillance cameras throughout the property — including the monitoring of animal and restricted areas — and body-worn cameras used by security personnel.

Guests who prefer not to appear in promotional media may notify a staff member or The Park’s Public Relations team.

7 Enforcement

Admission to The Park is a revocable license. Violation of this Code of Conduct or The Park’s Terms and Conditions may result in any or all of the following, in The Park’s sole judgment:

  • Removal from The Park without refund;
  • Denial of future admission;
  • Cancellation of a reservation and forfeiture of monies paid for it;
  • Revocation of any equipment, photography, or activity authorization; and
  • A charge to the credit card on file for any costs The Park incurs as a result of the violation (including the sanitization fee described in Section 5.3).

The Park further reserves the right to limit, relocate, or discontinue any activity — including any photography, videography, filming, livestreaming, or media activity — that in The Park’s sole judgment compromises safety, animal welfare, guest privacy, security, or the visitor experience. Conduct that violates Park rules is subject to enforcement regardless of whether it occurs in connection with media activity.

8 Governing Law

This Code of Conduct, and its application and interpretation, shall be governed exclusively by Georgia law. The Guest acknowledges and stipulates that any suits, actions, and/or other proceedings arising from or related to this Code of Conduct shall be brought in the state courts in Morgan County, Georgia, and the Guest irrevocably consents to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts in any such suits, actions, and/or proceedings. The Guest also irrevocably waives any and all rights to trial by jury in any such suits, actions, and/or proceedings between the parties.
