Madison’s Christmas Tour of Homes

Step into the holiday spirit this December 5th & 6th as Madison, Georgia, welcomes you to its Christmas Tour of Homes, hosted by the Morgan County Historical Society.  For one special weekend, as has been done for 75 years, the doors of some of our town’s most cherished private residences and historic landmarks will open, each dressed with holiday cheer.

This self-guided tour allows you to explore at your own pace—whether strolling with friends, family, or venturing out on your own.  Every home reflects the personality of its stewards, offering unique touches and heartfelt decorations that make the season unforgettable.   Slow down, take it all in, and make lasting memories in one of Georgia’s most picturesque small towns.

Meeting Point

Location: 277 South Main Street, Madison, GA 30650, USA

Note: the tour is a self-guided walking experience and is not ADA accessible. Comfortable shoes and weather-appropriate  clothing are recommended. There’s no designated starting point — begin your tour at any participating home.

Additional information

For the first time in 75 years, guests can also enjoy transportation between homes via the Madison Trolley Company!  The Madison Trolley Company is generously providing this service at no charge. However, donations will be accepted onboard in support of the Morgan County Historical Society, with all proceeds benefiting the maintenance and preservation of Heritage Hall. If you plan to use the trolley transportation you will be asked to accept a liability waiver.  Seats are not guaranteed.

Children 12 and under do not need tickets.  Please be reminded that these are people’s homes, not museums.  Please respect their properties and do not let children wander unaccompanied.

Guided Safari Tour

Embark on an unforgettable safari adventure, where our expert guides lead you on an incredible journey designed to mimic a genuine African game drive.  Climb aboard one of our safari trucks where you will come face to face with majestic antelopes, zebras, and other iconic African hoofstock roaming the open savanna, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

  • Guided Safari Tour and opportunity to meet an ambassador animal during a keeper chat.

Note: Enter Park off Highway 83, continue to the front parking area and enter the “Outpost”, to check-in for your tour inside and then proceed to the Tour loading area

Know before you go

All participants over 18 must complete and sign a Liability Waiver before going on the tour.  Participants under 18 must have a Liability Waiver signed on their behalf by an adult member of the party.  To facilitate and minimize time to check-in for your tour, we strongly encourage waivers to be completed in advance of your tour date.

  • Clothing: Comfortable, weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes for exploring the park.
  • Sun Protection & Bug Spray: Hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen (apply before any outdoor activities).

Park Guidelines

  • Respect the Animals: For their safety and yours, please do not feed, touch, or disturb the animals.
  • Stay on Paths and Trails: Stick to designated paths and trails to protect both the environment and your safety.
  • No Smoking: Smoking is strictly prohibited in tents, lodging units, and anywhere on park grounds.
  • Alcoholic Beverages: Alcohol may only be enjoyed while in your lodging unit only.
  • Non-Alcoholic Beverages: Non-alcoholic drinks in plastic or aluminum containers are permitted on tours.
  • No Food on Tours: To ensure the safety of our animals, food is not allowed on tours or in the touring vehicles.
  • Waste Disposal: Please help us keep the park clean by using the designated trash and recycling bins located throughout the property.
