Georgia Safari Conservation Park Celebrates Second Anniversary
with Arrival of One-and-a-Half Year-old Reticulated Giraffe Frannie

Park to Debut New Elevated Giraffe Viewing and Feeding Platform Later This Month

MADISON, Ga. (June 1, 2026) — Just in time for its second anniversary, Georgia Safari Conservation Park, the immersive, American Humane Certified™ safari destination in Madison, Georgia, has announced the arrival of Frannie, a one-and-a-half-year-old reticulated giraffe who joined the Park from Global Wildlife Center in Folsom, Louisiana.

Born on September 10, 2024, Frannie was named after Francine, the Category 2 hurricane that made landfall in Louisiana just one day after her birth.

Frannie was born to parents Jett and Sara as the Global Wildlife Center’s Animal Care team was preparing for the storm. They closely monitored her birth and cheered silently as she stood and began nursing within an hour. As a newborn, Frannie measured 5 feet, 4 inches tall and weighed 145 pounds. Since then, she has grown to 10 feet, 5 inches tall and 1,000 pounds.

Frannie, whose personality is described as curious, social, engaging, and creative, hails from an impressive lineage. Her great-grandmother, Kameel, the matriarch of Global Wildlife Center’s giraffe herd, or ‘tower’ in zoological terms, is believed to be the second-oldest giraffe in North America at 33 years old.
With the addition of Frannie, Georgia Safari Conservation Park’s reticulated giraffe tower continues to grow.

Frannie has been incredibly special to our team since the day she was born, and it was extremely important that she continue to support the survival of her species by joining an unrelated tower in a fantastic new home,” said Christina Cooper, Executive Director, Global Wildlife Center. “Georgia Safari Conservation Park’s commitment to animal care, conservation, and meaningful guest education made this a wonderful fit, and we’re excited for guests in Georgia to get to know Frannie as she continues to grow and thrive.”

Frannie arrives at Georgia Safari Conservation Park as the Park continues expanding its conservation-focused wildlife experiences and guest offerings. Later this month, the Park will debut a new giraffe viewing and feeding platform designed to give guests another immersive and interactive way to engage with these majestic animals.
The covered viewing and feeding space, measuring 12 x 16 feet, allows guests to observe and interact with the Park’s giraffes from a slightly elevated vantage point under the guidance of the animal care team. In addition to enhancing the guest experience, the platform also expands opportunities for private events, special gatherings, and unique celebrations at the Park.

Frannie is an exciting addition to our giraffe tower and to the overall guest experience at Georgia Safari Conservation Park,” said Mike Conrads, President of Georgia Safari Conservation Park. “Our guests have always been fascinated by giraffes, and the addition of our new viewing and feeding platform will create even more opportunities for meaningful, up-close experiences while we continue to prioritize animal welfare and conservation.”
