What tour options does Georgia Safari offer?
We offer several: Guided Safari Tour (game-drive style), Barn Tour (Giraffe & Rhino), Safari Encounter Tour, Sunset Safari (as of 2025), Group Tours / Private Tours, and special event tours.
What animals might we see on a tour?
Our pastures feature a wide variety of hoofstock (Addax, Roan Antelope, Impala, Zebra), Ostrich, Reticulated Giraffe, Southern White Rhino, among others.
Can I use my own vehicle for the drive-thru safari?
No – for the health and safety of everyone (including the animals!) tours are operated on specially trained safari vehicles driven by our staff. Guests should not use personal vehicles.
Do tours operate regardless of weather?
Yes — tours run rain or shine. However, if there is heavy rain, lightning, or very cold temps (for giraffe safety), giraffe may be kept indoors / tours may be delayed.
Are tours wheelchair accessible?
Yes — both Driving Tour Experiences and Animal Encounter experiences (and related vehicles) are ADA-accessible. Contact Guest Services for accommodations: +1 (706) 342-4296.
How can I purchase a Tour Experience?
You can reserve your experience in the following ways:

3. Purchasing your experience at The Outpost – our retail store at the front of our park.
We very strongly recommend making your reservation in advance to secure a time slot for your tour. We cannot guarantee availability of your preferred experience if you choose a same-day reservation.
Do you offer gift cards or certificates for tours / merchandise?
Yes, we do offer gift cards and certificates for experiences and merchandise at our park. You purchase them:
1. Online through our Gift Card Portal.
2. In-person at our retail store located at our Outpost (click here on mobile for directions!)

What if I arrive late for a tour?
To provide every touring guest with the best possible experience, we do require that guests arrive in a timely fashion for their own experiences; tours must depart at their appointed times. To that end, we recommend that you arrive 30 minutes ahead of your scheduled time.
If you have pre-purchased your ticket and believe you may not be able to arrive on-time for your tour experience, we ask that you please call the reservations team at 706-752-5500 or email reservations@georgiasafari.com to discuss rescheduling.
Can I bring a stroller or wagon?
Strollers are permitted inside The Outpost or The Lodge, but they are not permitted inside any of our tour vehicles.
Can we bring our own cameras or binoculars for the tour?
Yes — cameras and binoculars are permitted and encouraged to capture your safari experience.
Is food or drink allowed on tours?
For standard tours, outside food is typically not allowed. (For field trips, water is allowed, but no food in the tour vehicle.)
What about a night or sunset safari — how does that work?
The park offers a “Sunset Safari” (select dates only). As with all tours, reservations are required, and space is subject to availability. Contact us for group or private booking.
Do you offer private tours or groups tours?
Yes — we support private / group tours. Group tours require a minimum number of tickets (e.g., 15) and must be arranged in advance. Private tours are also available depending on group size.

Do you allow pets or service animals on tours?
No pets are allowed. Certified service animals are only permitted for lodging stays (with prior notice) but not allowed on tours.
Please note that the service animal must remain with the handler at all times and may not be left in any location unattended
Is parking available?
Yes, we provide free parking for our guests.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the Park.
Are there dining services available at the Park?
We currently do not provide dining services at our park, but there are a number of restaurants available in beautiful Madison, GA within a 5-minute drive of the property.
What is the cancellation policy?
Our cancellation policy is presented within our Terms & Conditions.

Why can’t I touch the animals?
Guests MUST remain within the safari vehicles or our security fence. Any area beyond the fence is considered a wild animal area and is dangerous for pedestrians, so access is prohibited.
Lodging Questions
Is smoking allowed in the lodging or on the property?
Smoking and vaping are prohibited inside lodging units and on tours. Designated smoking areas are available on the property.
Is there RV parking?
No overnight RV accommodations are currently available on-site. Nearby options include Hard Labor Creek State Park and Lake Oconee/Greensboro KOA Holiday.
Are there holiday price changes?
Yes. Special pricing applies on Spring Break, Memorial Day weekend, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving weekend, December 23–26, and New Year’s Eve/Day. The park is closed on Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
What is the cancellation or refund policy for lodging?
Full policy is at georgiasafari.com/terms. No refunds for inclement weather. Guests may reschedule with a $200 transfer fee. If the park cancels your reservation for any reason, a full refund is issued.
Is there a noise or lighting curfew for lodging?
Guests may come and go with gate cards, but loud noises and lights after 10:00 PM are discouraged for the safety of the animals.
Why can’t I touch the animals from lodging?
Any area beyond the lodging fence is considered wild animal territory and is strictly off-limits. Guests must remain inside the fenced lodging area.
What animals might I see from my lodging unit?
The lodging units back up to the Veldt Pasture, a 20+ acre area home to antelope, giraffe, ostrich, and native wildlife. Animal sightings are not guaranteed. Binoculars are provided in each unit. Using any light source to view animals after dark is prohibited.
Is there on-site dining or a restaurant?
No, there is currently no food venue on-site. Restaurants are available in nearby Madison within a short drive.
Can I request early check-in or late check-out?

Can I bring a pet?
No. Outside pets are not allowed. Only certified service animals with proof of certification are permitted, and they must remain with their handler at all times.
Are lodging units mobility-friendly / ADA accessible?
Yes — the Giraffe Suite and ADA Luxury Safari Tent (106 Eland) are both wheelchair accessible.
Does lodging include a tour?

What are check-in and check-out times?
Check-in is at 4:00 PM EST. Check-out is at 11:00 AM EST.

Not on-site. ChargePoint and Supercharger stations are located nearby on Eatonton Rd.

All animals come from other zoological facilities.

How many animals are at the park?
A wide variety of species from around the world — the park is growing rapidly.
What is the alcohol policy?
Must be 21+ with valid ID to consume alcohol. No outside alcohol except for lodging guests in reasonable amounts. Alcohol may not be taken outside park grounds during events.
What is the chaperone policy?
Lodging: guests under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone age 21+, who must show valid ID and remain on-site.
Tours: guests under 18 must be accompanied by a chaperone age 18+; one chaperone may supervise up to 10 minors.
Do you offer shuttles or car pick-up?
No, but Uber and Lyft are permitted on property.
Does the park have an Animal Enrichment Wish List?

Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes — complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the park.
Is there a nursing / baby changing area?
Yes — one restroom has a baby changing station and is spacious enough for nursing.
Are there water bottle filling stations?
Yes — at the Outpost and near the restrooms at the back of the park.
Is dining available?
No on-site dining, but several restaurants are within a 5-minute drive in Madison, GA. The Outpost and Lodge offer snacks and drinks.
Is the park ADA compliant?
Yes — public spaces and touring vehicles are wheelchair-friendly, and lodging includes ADA-compliant amenities.

Do you offer weather-related refunds?
No. Lodging reschedules incur a $200 transfer fee. If the park cancels, you receive a full refund.

No pets. Only certified service animals with proof of certification are permitted, under strict guidelines.
Can I smoke or vape on property?
Smoking / vaping is prohibited during tours and in lodging units. Designated smoking areas exist for lodging guests only.
Do you operate in the rain?
Yes, rain or shine. However, heavy rain, lightning, or very cold temperatures may cause certain animals (like giraffes) to be held indoors and tours to be delayed or rescheduled.
What are the hours?
Open every day, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM EST, year-round except Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.
Are there age restrictions?
No — guests of all ages are welcome.
What makes it different from a zoo?
The park emphasizes conservation and education with open pastures, naturalistic habitats, and guided tours rather than cages.
How large is the park?
530 acres total, with 282 acres designated as animal pastures.
Education / Field Trip Questions
Do you accept school field trips or large group events?
Yes, the Park supports field trips and group events. Please contact our Education Team at education@georgiasafari.com for more information.
What is the minimum group size for Field Trips?
For Field Trips, minimum is typically 15 tickets.
Are tours and facilities ADA / wheelchair accessible for group / field trip guests with mobility needs?
Yes — both driving tours and animal encounters are ADA-accessible.
Can students bring food or lunch for field trips?
While the park does not provide food service, schools may bring outside lunch and eat on a provided space; food should be stored on the bus. The park does not supply coolers or food prep areas.
Can students bring drinks or water during tours?
Drinks are allowed; but outside food is not permitted in the vehicle.
Do we get to feed or touch the animals on field trips or tours?
No — to maintain a naturalistic environment and for safety, animals are not hand-fed by guests and interaction is limited to viewing from vehicle or designated areas.
