Make Your Next Group Outing One To Remember
09.02.2026
There are infamous group outings everyone has been on before. The dinner reservation that takes too long, the escape room that works better in theory, and the evening that ends with people quietly checking their phones on the way home. An opportunity for closeness and enjoyment thwarted by predictable boredom. There still exists, however, the chance at a memorable and lasting experience that will be cherished for years–Georgia Safari Conservation Park’s Sunset Safari Tour.
Available on Fridays and Sundays from September through October, the Sunset Safari is a
three-hour after-hours exclusive experience on the park’s open-top safari trucks, timed to move through 530 acres of Georgian savanna as the light shifts from afternoon gold to the long, warm haze of early evenings. The animals are more active in the cooler air, the park is quieter than it is throughout the day, and the whole excursion offers an atmosphere unmatched anywhere else in the state.
The Sunset Safari Tour is perfect for a wide variety of group outings. Corporate retreats, milestone birthdays, anniversary celebrations, family reunions–the Sunset Tour accommodates groups of all kinds, and the Georgia Safari team takes the stress out of planning and setup. There is no agenda to manage, no venue to decorate, and no awkward programming to fill. A knowledgeable guide handles everything while you and your crew take in zebras, giraffes, rhinos, and more than 30 other species as they prance across verdant greenery and inspire awe with their natural wonder. Bring your cameras. Binoculars are always encouraged. The golden-hour light over the grasslands will make you feel like a National Geographic photographer.

Reservations are required well in advance–group tours fill quickly, especially as fall weekends go fast. The park strongly encourages arriving 30 minutes early to check in and get settled before the tour departs promptly at its scheduled time. Late arrivals are considered a no-show.
For groups interested in extending the evening, the park’s Luxury Safari Tents and Honeymoon Hideaway are available for overnight stays, putting you right on the edge of the savanna for a morning wake-up call from your favorite park animals. Downtown Madison, a five-minute drive from the park, offers a great selection of restaurants and nightcaps to round out your evening before or after the tour.
